Aircore Drilling

We specialise in Aircore Drilling from 80mm up to 85mm in diameter with holes to a depth of up to 110m.

Aircore is a method of exploration drilling that can be utilised allowing the safe removal of sample material where possible, it is a preferred alternative to RAB allowing clean and uncontaminated samples.

  • Aircore provides a more accurate sample. The nature of the expulsion of the materials provides samples that are easier to analyse.
  • Safer sample removal. Using compressed air injection, air core drilling involves less damage to the samples, when compared with other alternative drilling methods.
  • Boosts efficiencies and reduces costs. Aircore is an efficient method for removing material. It enables real-time sample collection, which speeds up drilling rates, resulting in reduced field costs. Our air core drill is lighter in weight than larger RC rigs, making quicker and easier to transport between holes.
  • Less chance of cross-contamination of sample. As compressed air is used to suck the sample through the inner tube, there is less sample pollution than other methods.

Aircore drilling is faster and less expensive than traditional drilling methods, as it allows for the removal of cuttings in real-time, resulting in a cleaner borehole and a higher quality sample. This method of drilling is also highly effective in clay and sand formations, where other drilling methods may struggle to obtain accurate samples.

At Terrain Drilling, we specialize in providing Aircore drilling services to our clients, using only the latest equipment and technology to ensure that we provide accurate and efficient drilling services. Our experienced drilling team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and quality workmanship on every project, ensuring that our clients are satisfied with the results.

Slimline RC Drilling

We offer Slimline RC Drilling from 85mm up to 102mm diameter holes to a depth of up to 160m.

Slimline RC drilling is a method of drilling that uses a down-the-hole hammer and air to drive a tungsten-steel drill bit into the ground. This method of drilling is ideal for drilling into hard rock formations, and it allows for quick and efficient drilling without the need for casing.

Slimline RC drilling is commonly used in mineral exploration, geotechnical investigations, and environmental assessments, as it allows for the collection of high-quality samples quickly and efficiently. The slimline drill rods used in this method of drilling are lighter and easier to handle than traditional drill rods, making the process of moving equipment around the drill site faster and more efficient.

One of the primary advantages of Slimline RC drilling is that it allows for the collection of high-quality samples with minimal contamination. The use of compressed air to drive the drill bit and remove the cuttings ensures that the samples collected are not contaminated by the drilling fluid, which can be a problem with other drilling methods.

At our company, we have a team of experienced drillers who specialize in Slimline RC drilling, and we use only the latest equipment and technology to ensure that we provide accurate and efficient drilling services for our clients. Whether you need drilling services for mineral exploration, geotechnical investigations, or environmental assessments, we have the expertise to help you achieve your goals. Contact us today to learn more about our Slimline RC drilling services and how we can help you with your next drilling project.

Mud Rotary

In addition to our Aircore and Slimline RC drilling services, we also offer mud rotary drilling, a traditional drilling method that has been used for decades in the mining and exploration industry.

Mud rotary drilling involves the use of a drill bit attached to a drill pipe that rotates and cuts through the earth’s crust. A drilling mud, usually a mixture of water and additives, is pumped down the drill pipe to lubricate and cool the drill bit, as well as to carry the drill cuttings back to the surface. Mud rotary drilling is typically used for deeper drilling applications, where more precise geological data is required.

Our experienced drilling team has the expertise and equipment necessary to provide efficient and cost-effective mud rotary drilling services. We use state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to ensure that our drilling operations are environmentally responsible and that we minimize any potential impact to the surrounding areas.
